We at G@H want to share our tournament pick: Duke. Why? Not Seth Curry or Mason Plumlee. Not their draw. Not even Coach K. In reality, we don’t much care for Duke, but they won in 1992. And, what was big in 1992 has re-surged in 2013. As proof, we cite Zubaz, the pioneer of the zebra-print pant.
Zubaz were a staple of early 90s NFL football. Everybody – fans, players, cheerleaders – sported a pair. Then, abruptly, Zubaz vanished. They became mythological, like Bigfoot. You would go to a game and hear a guy who knew a guy who saw a guy wearing Zubaz. You never saw Zubaz yourself.
The breath of life had left Zubaz. But, as they floated toward the light, they realized that their time had not yet come. People still wanted Zubaz. People still needed Zubaz. So, Zubaz returned. And, they started a website. And, they found the Gronkowski brothers, natural-born Zubaz promoters. And, today, you can buy these royal blue and white Zubaz for $34.99. Duke colors. Because 1992 is here again.

Zubaz may have priced themselves out of their target demographic with the 34.99 price tag. Nevertheless, I tend to think an investment in a pair followed by a well-timed donning of these threads guarantees instant camaraderie amongst his fellow brethren.
Zubaz also make shorts. Shall we make a pair mandatory for our kickball team uniform?
