Wow. Peach Chutney. Who Knew?

Wow. Peach Chutney. Who Knew?

We at G@H try to remain humble gluttons. Everyone hates a braggart. When we encounter gentlemanly gold, though, it is our solemn obligation to share.

Last week, we bought a ton of fresh peaches. We ate many of them. We made jam with others. We then found ourselves with five remaining peaches and zero ideas.  Cue inspiration. Like a gastronomic bomb, the idea struck: chutney!

A basketful of farm fresh peaches

This transplanted Indian condiment is outside of our wheelhouse.  We’ve had mango chutney. That’s about it. Fancying ourselves to be food adventurers, we hit the internet, merging ideas and eventually fashioning a G@H exclusive recipe that we cooked using the jam cycle of our Zojirushi Home Bakery Virtuoso.

The result was shockingly great. Seriously. We grilled a chicken breast and steamed jasmine rice and covered it all in fresh peach chutney.  So much did we enjoy the meal that we froze two 8-ounce jars of chutney for later consumption.

For your own chutney experience, combine the following ingredients in your bread machine’s pan.
