Savory French Toast

Savory French Toast

Some skills are essential for the gentleman’s toolkit. The ability to cook an excellent breakfast always impresses. French toast reigns supreme among morning entrees because it (1.) tastes marvelous, (2.) requires little culinary magic, and (3.) allows you to revive otherwise semi-stale bread.

As with life, we at G@H like to spice up traditional French toast. Here’s our latest recipe.

Savory French Toast

Ingredients

  • 4 thickly cut slices of bread
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 2 tsp chopped basil
  • 2 tsp Hungarian paprika
  • 1 1/2 tsp onion power
  • 1 clove of crushed garlic

Directions

Whisk together the eggs, milk, basil, paprika, onion power and crushed garlic. Dip the bread into the mixture for 10 seconds per side. Fry in a skillet greased with either butter, oil or cooking spray until both sides are lightly browned. Serve drizzled in maple syrup with a side of sausage, bacon or eggs.

Learn this dish. Practice it. And when the moment comes, crush it to the thrill and amazement of others.
