Of all the tech gadgets suggested here, this one might win the award for least sexy. Who doesn’t daydream about bringing home a portable laptop charger? We’ve got one, though, and it’s kinda awesome. Actually, it’s full-blown awesome. This MAXOAK 6-Port External Battery Power Bank might rank as our favorite gadget that we’ve acquired this year.

We bought it because we travel for work. Nothing is worse than working in an airport or on a plane and running out of laptop battery. Wasted time never returns. This rings especially true for those of us who work on tight deadlines or the billable hour.

Its utility extends beyond the road. We find this MAXOAK to be superbly convenient. And, it fast-charges our iPhone. We often use it while lounging on the patio. It allows us to enjoy the warm summer nights and troupe of fireflies gamboling around our backyard, while still, you know, being productive. Sometimes, we even bring it to bed because we have difficulty putting our screens away.

This MAXOAK 6-Port External Battery Power Bank comes with adaptors that fit just about every laptop. It also has four USB ports. We’re not sure how long it can go. We’ve never gotten close to depleting its reserves. However, the manufacturer says that it has enough juice to charge an iPhone 6 Plus about 11 times.
