One morning, we awoke and looked across our bedroom. The light fixtures that came with the house a decade ago caught our attention. Boring. Dated. Silver. “Those sconces got to go!” we declared to our significant other. This is an embellished but true story.
Replacing lighting works as an easy, relatively cheap—but consequential—way to refresh a space. We have a mid-century modern flair, so we wanted to accentuate the theme with our new fixtures. These Gold Starburst Wall Sconces from EDISLIVE make a statement.
Because of their boldness, they shouldn’t go everywhere. In fact, we used subtler White Glass Globe Sconces for six of the eight replacements in our bedroom. But, at the top of the stairs leading to our master suite, there is a fixture on each side of the wall, visible from the bottom of the stairs: the perfect spot to flex some flair. Now visitors can appreciate our profound and undisputed style without ascending the stairs and invading our private space.
