Our lawn needs work. There are empty patches. Elsewhere, it could be healthier, thicker, more luscious. We’ve dedicated ourselves this spring to doing what we can do to improve the situation. Last weekend, we laid some sod. This weekend, we’re going to test the soil and treat it accordingly. And, we just dethatched using this Greenworks 14-Inch 10 Amp Corded.
Dead grass of yesteryear does not disappear. It remains and can crowd out new grass and prevent nutrients and water from seeping down into the soil and to the root system. The process of dethatching–removing the harmful plant residue–allows the lawn to breathe. We all need to breathe.
Of course, dethatching is no easy task. We were skeptical that plug-in electric equipment could handle it. But then, we looked at the Amazon reviews. People glow about the Greenworks Dethatcher.
“Does it work? ABSO-LU-TELY!!!”, remarked one person. “My favorite new tool! Surprisingly effective!!!” praised another. “What was I waiting for? Worth the money in one use.” applauded a third.
We put much stock in Amazon reviews. So, we clicked “Buy Now” and soonafter had a Greenworks Dethatcher delivered to our doorstep. It’s lightweight and controlled much like a push mower. We finished dethatching in 45 minutes or so. That was easy. The next step is to rake and bag all of the dethatched hatch. That was harder, more strenuous and more time consuming. But, it’ll be worth it if it helps resuscitate our lawn.
