We trudge. That’s the most accurate description of how we walk. We drag our feet. We bump into things. It takes a heavy toll on our shoes. We’ve tried to lift our feet and watch where we step. Those are noble ambitions; they just aren’t happening. Not for us.
We’d love to buy expensive shoes and look super-duper dapper. That’d be foolhardy, though, because those shoes wouldn’t last long on these feet. Instead of spending big, we hunt down handsome shoes at reasonable prices. It takes extra effort—a lot of time on Amazon, Overstock and Zappos. Some shoes look better online than in person. Returns happen.
In our experience, the most elusive shoe is the black slip-on loafer. Too often, the leather shines like plastic or the stitching seems shoddy or the insole feels like pavement. But, when we find a winner, we rejoice. As charitable, goodhearted gentlemen, we also share the shoes with our loyal readers.
Behold the Giorgio Brutini Men’s Liston Slip-On Loafers. They currently cost about $34 on Amazon. They sport a classically attractive but interesting design. They fit well and have a lining made of memory foam. Get them while the getting is good.
