G@H’s creator and lead editor is a professionally educated journalist and a practicing attorney. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Missouri School of Journalism. He earned a juris doctorate from the Northwestern University School of Law. But, his real education came in his two years as a Peace Corps volunteer in rural Romania.
Gentlemanathom.com (“G@H”) occupies a novel, otherwise uninhabited corner in online media. It celebrates the holistic man. It recognizes that we have dynamic, intersecting passions.
We can enjoy baking bread and watching football. Men garden. We cook. Men play sports. We drink beer. Men design, and we build. Being manly isn’t binary. Creativity is compatible with masculinity.
Too often, websites geared toward men play on tired stereotypes. They objectify women, or they idolize adolescence. Even when venturing outside the zone of machismo, such as with cooking or design, they treat men as obtuse creatures who given the opportunity to screw things up probably will.
G@H is different. It doesn’t patronize men. Instead, G@H honors all those leading lives of gentlemanly distinction. It shares insight. It endorses the artisanal. It champions the unique.
